Wood Wicks are now made from native, sappy fruit trees, sourced from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified mills throughout the USA.
They throw a lovely wide flame producing a 'natural' crackling sound when burning.
This unique timber grain can vary between wicks and we suggest to pre-wax before use to improve the initial lighting process. Relying on the natural properties of wood, means that the flame may vary as the grain may not provide a perfect flow. If your candle goes out, it has likely come across a 'glitch' in the grain, and relighting will generally move you past this. Sometimes 2 or 3 lightings may be required.
** a cotton wick may be required for a reliable burn, see photo below.
Each wood wick includes a metal tab for stability and is available in a range of sizes to suit varying container widths. It's best to understand this and test for yourself - they are worth the effort!!
